Work Access Rules (Wasteland World LLC) 

Pre-Event Gate Hours

You must arrive during gate hours; otherwise you will have to wait until gate opens the next day*.

Saturday: 6 am to 10 pm (is only for preapproved special Sat arrivals, you already know who you are)

Sunday – Tuesday: 6 am to 10 pm (for all Theme Zone tribes)

Miss this, and you're in line with everyone else in the morning, no special line!

Wednesday: Work access ends and the event opens to general attendees. If you did not arrive on Tuesday before the gate closed, you’ll have to wait in line with everyone else.

 

Planning your Arrival

DO NOT ARRIVE AFTER 10 PM! If you arrive after 10 PM, just put it in park, and get some shut-eye 'til gates open in the morning. Anyone who jumps the gate during closed hours will be banned from the event and put their entire tribe at risk!! Don't be that guy.

Note: If you leave the site on Wednesday, you will need to wait in the regular line to be readmitted. There is no special reentry line on Wednesday. If you must go off-site, do it before Tuesday. Do not leave without your wristband and ID.

 

Getting there

Use the driving directions off the website so you don’t get lost: https://www.wastelandweekend.com/maps/

Do not break any laws regarding driving in public areas, such as consuming alcohol. Drinking and driving while on the private site is also illegal and will be enforced.

 

Once you are on the property

Portajohns will be positioned near the check-in gate. Please do not abandon your vehicle to use the bathroom, and be careful when walking in traffic.

The speed limit is 5 mph AT ALL TIMES!

 

Checking In at Gate

• Work Access Passes (WAPs) ARE NOT TICKETS!

• You must present both the WAP and your Wasteland Ticket at the Gate, along with your government-issued photo ID.

• PRINT YOUR WAP & TICKET! Do not rely on your mobile phone. Coverage is spotty, and it's hard for the scanners to read phones in the intense daylight.

• BRING WITH YOU: Printed Ticket and WAP (because reception can be spotty) and government-issued photo ID. Please note that there are currently no plans to require proof of vaccination for Wasteland 2023.
  
   

Be Self-Sufficient

• There will be no food or ice vendors open pre-event, so come prepared to handle your own food, beverage, and ice needs.

• Bring your own first aid kits with plenty of bandages, Neosporin, aspirin, etc. Medical will not be open until the event officially begins.

• Bring your own tools.

 

2023 Pre-Event Site Rules

All local/state and event rules are in effect during work access. Additionally:

• If you are your tribe's first arrival, let check-in know. They can radio the placement team, who will instruct you where to meet them.

• Wear your wristband at all times. People without the appropriate wristband and EA credential will not be allowed to stay on site.

• This is an active build site. Observe all OSHA regulations regarding hard hats, etc.

• NEVER touch, move, alter, or destroy the small survey flags.

 

During work access, we are here to build, not party.

• Quiet Hours are 10 pm to 6 am. Building noises are fine, but loud music and party noises are not.

• Themed cars are to be driven onsite, and then PARKED UNTIL EVENT OPENS. No joy riding!

• Satellite camps are to be set up in designated areas.

• DO NOT LAND GRAB! There is no “saving space” outside of the Theme Zone. Any items used to “save space” will be removed and not returned. Do not test us on this.
